Use EMT or rigid conduit in the attic. Support it every 3 feet, keep it clear of insulation near the panel, and derate for temperature. MC cable in conduit works well for derailing.

Second that — buy a conduit support and definitely follow NEC 310 derating in your inspector's jurisdiction. A right-sized conduit run also looks way cleaner.
