4-6 hours Comfortable on ladders / roofs

Planning the Layout

Measure your roof and map out a layout that maximizes sun exposure and stays within your city's setback requirements. Keep rows at least 6 inches from ridge and eaves in most jurisdictions.

Attaching Rails to Rafters

Locate rafters with a stud finder and mark their centers. Attach your mounting feet directly over rafters using the manufacturer's lag bolts, and place flashing under the foot before sealing.

Securing Panels to Rails

Run rail pieces along your rafter lines, then use panel clamps to attach panels. Always ground the system per code with a proper grounding conductor and bonding hardware.

Quick Safety Tips
  • Always disconnect power before working on any component.
  • Panels generate voltage in sunlight — even unplugged.
  • Use proper-rated DC breakers and fuses.
  • Check local codes and permit requirements first.
  • Contact a licensed electrician for grid connections.
